The Slider does not have an actual folding mechanism, however the steering tube lifts off and lays down on top of the decks; this is done by simply flipping open the quick release clamp lever and pushing a spring loaded pin; this is the reverse of the assembly required as it comes out of the box. This will work fine for putting the unit in the trunk of your car but would be a bit cumbersome to carry around; some enthuisiasts have touted the use of an aluminum folding chair storage bag with carry strap to transport the Slider to their favorite riding area.
